2026 Design Challenge Competition 

HEIA(Q) is excited to launch its 2026 student design challenge. This year, the context is broad, and so too are the opportunities! The competition offers two design challenges, a food challenge and a materials challenge, across two age categories. The design challenges seek to ignite students’ creativity and provide an opportunity to showcase how students can design and produce a myriad of solutions that improve the lives and wellbeing of others.

Entries will be on display for voting at the 2026 HEIA(Q) State Conference, being held on Friday 31 July 2026 at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre. A winner for each age group within each category will be announced at the conclusion of the conference. The four student winners will each receive a $100 gift card!
